Interesting Post From John Chow

I was reading John Chow's blog today and I came across an interesting post in which he compared "The Field of Dreams" to Blogging. He believes that in order to make money online, you need to spend only 10% of your time blogging and 90% marketing.

Remember, if you build it, they won’t come. Successful blogging is 10% blogging and 90% marketing. Learning how to generate a buzz will get you a lot further than learning how to write a better blog post.

I don't necessarily agree with this, but it is an interesting was to look at the online world of blogging. I believe that blogging is about 80% of it. If you don't have anything interesting to read on your site, why would you waste valuable time sending people to your site when they are just going to bounce the minute they see that they don't have anything to read? That doesn't make any sense to me.

Traffic is important, but the content rules. Everyone has heard the phrase "Content is King." Well, if everyone says that, including high profile bloggers, then it must be true.
